A Note from Meredith
So much is happening right now!! I wanted to update everyone a little bit on things not only at Obed's, but also in my personal life!
Obed's Updates
The kids are doing well! They are all back to school in full swing!
The Board of Trustees has met and have a few really exciting things we want you to look forward to this year. The first is our Annual Fundraiser Event which will be held sometime in October, in Springfield, Ohio. The event will be a night to get together, hear updates about Obed's, meet other friends and supporters of Obed's, and hopefully introduce new friends.
We have new literature coming out with information about Obed's. If you receive this email, you'll be receiving an electronic copy of the literature first. After it's produced, we'll be contacting you to see if you're interested in a hard copy to keep on hand to share with friends & family.
I would like to ask for prayer as our Social Worker is resigning at the end of the month. That God would bless us with a wonderful replacement.
I would also like to ask for prayers as there has been some recent security concerns in the Philippines. Pray that God would protect the Filipinos, Missionaries, and our Obed's family in particular.
Personal Updates
Avery & I are so exited to announce that we are expecting a baby GIRL! Unfortunately, I have been pretty sick throughout my pregnancy, which has caused me to be on bed rest most days. I've experienced a lot of nausea, and even fainting/throwing up. I've had to miss and reschedule a few of my speaking engagements because of this. If you could please pray for me that would be much appreciated.
Because of my health, Avery & I, together with our doctor have decided it's best to wait out the pregnancy and stay stateside until baby girl arrives.This has been a gut wrenching decision for me. While it is SO hard to be away from my kids and staff, I do realize that the health of the baby and myself is important right now so we are trusting God during this season and on this journey. We will most likely be heading back to the Philippines in early March.
God has been so good to us by providing Avery with great work opportunities while were home. If your family is in the Ohio area and is interested in having any kind of pictures taken, please let me know so we can schedule them. Avery charges $150 an hour for family, engagement, portrait style etc.
